MORE ABOUT JESS

Jess Channon is the face, heart, mind (and hands) behind Earthshine Village.

She is an Arvigo® Therapist, Womb & Fertility Massage Therapist™ and Pregnancy Massage Therapist and (soon to be) McLoughlin Scar Tissue Release® Therapist, mother, wife, sister, daughter, auntie, friend and passionate believer in every woman’s body, mind and spirit.

Jess loves sharing these gifts with the women of Adelaide, South Australia.

JESS’ STORY

I learned of the awesome strength within women during my midwifery studies, but also saw how traditional reproductive healthcare undervalued women’s knowledge and experiences, and often left women feeling isolated and alone, suffering in silence.

In 2012, I was diagnosed with endometriosis after decades of pain. In 2014 after two years of infertility I became pregnant, and after risky but necessary abdominal surgery, gave birth powerfully, in my own home.

I had two miscarriages before birthing my rainbow baby in 2018, again at home. Through these experiences I’ve had profound results from the support of “a village” of wise women health practitioners – an Acupuncturist, Naturopath, Chiropractor, Yoga teacher, and Massage and Arvigo® Therapist. They shone light for me during my darkest and loneliest times, not only treating my physical body but holding space for me to pour my heart out and heal, and overcoming the stigma and shame of periods, infertility and baby loss.

It is because of these beautiful souls that I was inspired to gain further qualifications in Arvigo Therapy®, Womb & Fertility Massage Therapy™, Pregnancy Massage and McLoughlin Scar Tissue Release® and create Earthshine Village to pass on the gifts my village gave to me.

Alicia

“Jess has such a caring and personable nature that immediately makes you feel at ease… I had two fertility massages a week apart (pre-ovulation) for two consecutive months. The following month… [after years of infertility] I got my positive pregnancy test!! I am forever grateful”

Bell

“Jess is knowledgeable, understanding, and her warm personality makes you feel relaxed. The massage I had really helped to ease my pelvic pain and move tension, as well as release and move blockages. Jess also gave me some great self-care tips for my endometriosis, as well as suggesting some self-stomach massages”

Carly

“It was exactly what I needed to realign my body and resync with the feminine within… It was relaxing, calming and soothing. It was exactly what I needed to fill my cup. To remind me to listen to my cycle more…”

Melissa

“I feel like Jess has come into my life right when I was looking for her! …I just wish I’d met Jess earlier! After one treatment I’ve had obvious physical improvements… Jess is kind, nurturing and part of a promise to myself to improve my self-care.”

WHAT’S IN A NAME?

‘Earthshine’ is the reflection of light from the earth that illuminates the unlit part of a crescent moon. It is visible for fleeting moments at sunrise and sunset. Although the moon appears partial, it is a nice reminder that the moon is whole.

Women, like the moon, are cyclical. Sometimes “full” and illuminated, sometimes just a little shadowed like a waxing or waning gibbous, and other times completely in the dark, or “new”. Yet, we are always whole!

Often it takes the wisdom and support of other women – a village – to remind us of this wholeness, of the light and fullness that exists when it seems so very dark.

In the loneliness and darkness of reproductive pain or dysfunction, Earthshine Village can be that support, there to nurture body mind and spirit and remind you that:

You shine even when there is no light
